There is no need to leave Sea Island to eat. Aside from getting some groceries for the house, we never ventured off property. With over ten dining options and some amazing chefs, you will want to explore all the options. We enjoyed eating at Southern Tide as a family. The outdoor dining area backs up to a grassy area and there were tons of kids running around.
I also recommend doing the southern supper on Rainbow Island (which I believe they do every Saturday). It was by far the best dining experience with the kids and Rainbow Island is a beautiful scene.
One night we also got a sitter (through Sitters by the Shore) and went out for a much needed adult dinner. I highly recommend Tavola, the Italian restaurant in the Cloister, and the River Bar for an after dinner drink.
WHAT TO DO
The Sea Island Beach Club is where we spent most of our time. With miles of private beach, multiple swimming pools, a waterslide, a splash pad, and everything you need to spend the afternoon kayaking, sailing, or paddle boarding, what else could you want? The kids loved playing at the beach, pool and playground. We also took out a sailboat one day.
There are tons of kid activities beyond the beach/pool. While we were there the resort had a cookie decorating class, tie dye on the beach, horseback riding, tennis and a great kids club where kids over 3 can spend part of their day.
For the adults there are several work out classes, spa, shooting and golf.
It was a great trip and we cannot wait to go back! Such a perfect balance between a luxury and family friendly resort.
